An Americana Time Capsule
“Sweet in every Sense since 1947.”
And sweet might be an understatement. At Kilwin’s, they are carrying on the American tradition of the sweets and ice cream shop.
Kilwin’s in Sarasota is a sweet tooth dream. With ice cream, handmade fudge and tons of other sweets, there is plenty to enjoy and take home.
If you ask anyone, the fudge is the reason to stop by Kilwin’s. Axel, one of the employees at Kilwin’s, talked about the fudge.
“We make all of the fudge by hand and from scratch here every day,” he says. “And we do it the old style in the copper kettles. People love to watch from the windows.”
The masters at Kilwin’s fill the giant copper kettles with fudge and pour it onto a cool marble slab to harden and paddle into familiar shapes. The Kilwin’s team will even give your kids old school paper hats as they watch the magic happen!
And if fudge is not your bag, Kilwin’s has plenty more to offer. Axel talked about the other treats on display.
“We keep a rotation of different things in case every week and a half or so,” he says. “And we make everything in-house. The caramel apples and turtles are some favorites.”
We All Scream for…
Looking to cool down on a warm Sarasota day? Kilwin’s is a bustling spot for after dinner ice cream.
“Right after dinner is when we get the ice cream rush,” says Axel. “And adults love ice cream just as much as kids do. You rarely see anyone here without a big smile.”
Get a fresh perspective and indulge your sweet tooth at Kilwin’s in St. Armand’s Circle.
