MADE, which stands for Modern American Delicious Eats, opened up on Main Street in 2013. Mark Woodruff, the owner of MADE, was raised in the restaurant scene in Texas from a young age. After working his way up from the dishwashing station, he decided to open his own place.
MADE, as the name suggests, is taking classic American flavors and adding a modern twist. Tim, the General Manager at MADE, hopes that guests will have a familiar experience.
“Most of our menu is a modern take on classic comfort food,” he says. “We want it to be just like grandma or mom makes it at home.”
Keeping the flavors classic and effortlessly authentic is only one part of the MADE mission.
“We are also using as many locally sourced ingredients as we can,” says Tim. “We support local farmers and growers. We think that makes a big difference in the finished product.”
Try starting off your meal with some of the award-winning and locally adored Cheesy Tots with pepper jack and cayenne filled potato croquettes, panko rolled, fried crispy, served with malt mayo and MADE ketchup — these tots are unlike any tots you’ve had before!
And the bold flavors certainly don’t stop there. Tim recommended an item off the menu.
“People really love our MADE burger,” he says. “It’s not like a normal burger. It’s our own special blend with barbacoa — it’s packed with flavor.”
The spirit of Sunday is not something that is lost on the MADE team. The brunch menu offers a completely unique selection of dishes and a cocktail menu to boot. Tim mentioned that the brunch at MADE was well-received by Sarasota.
“In a five-year span, we have won Best Local Brunch in Sarasota four out of the five years,” he says.
