Siesta Key Drum Circle Sarasota FL
The No. 1 beach in the nation is making some noise.
Every Sunday, one hour before the sun goes down, crowds flock to Siesta Key for a community drum circle, where everyone is welcome.
Drummers are here to worship the sunset, a magical part of the day worth celebrating. The drummers and dancers who attend take the circle very seriously – some of them have been coming for more than 20 years.
You’ll see belly dancers, hula hoopers, brave souls balancing swords on their heads and others donning giant butterfly wings.
You have entered a whole other world.
The drum circle is fun for the whole family, but once the sun goes down and night darkens, you’ll find the crowd becomes a little less … inhibited.
Here’s what you need to know before you hit the circle:
- Get here early. If you want to watch the magic happen, you’ve got to get a seat around the circle.
- The fun unfolds right at the public beach access. You’ll see the crowd and hear the drums.
- If you’re so inclined, bring chairs, snacks and drinks.
Most importantly, join the crowd – and dance like no one’s watching.
